The Best Diffuser Blends for Sleep
Do you have trouble winding down every night? Do you toss and turn a lot throughout the night? Sleep Diffuser Blends for the win
Before we jump into the sleep diffuser blends, I highly suggest reading The Ultimate Guide to using Essential Oils for Sleep.

I’m assuming you already have a diffuser, but if you don’t I highly recommend the Roam Diffuser. It’s absolutely gorgeous and it has a rechargeable battery with a charging dock. So you can move the diffuser around from room to room!
I also love that it has an intermittent option – 5 minutes on, 5 minutes off – because that is the best and most effective way to diffuse essential oils. You really don’t want a continuous stream of vapor going through the air because it could be too much and too overwhelming to your system.

Go-To Sleep Diffuser Blend
Our favorite sleep diffuser blend is a combination of Lavender, Frankincense and Cedarwood. I like to start the diffuser around 7-7:30 PM and we just have it going during the nightly wind-down time.
4 drops Lavender
2 drops Frankincense
2 drops Cedarwood
This combination works really well together and it has an overall calming effect.
Second Runner Up Sleep Diffuser Blends
If I feel like we’ve been overdoing our go-to sleep diffuser blend, I’ll mix it up with one of these runner ups. I love to add Bergamot into the mix because it has the unique properties to uplift as well as calm. So if someone’s in a funky mood, Bergamot will definitely be in the diffuser!
Here are the runner ups:
4 drops Lavender
2 drops Vetiver
or
3 drops Lavender
3 drops Bergamot
or
3 drops Roman Chamomile
2 drops Orange
1 drop Lavender
or
2 drops Breathe (doTERRA)
3 drops Lavender
Sleep Diffuser Blends to the Rescue!
Can you tell I’m basically using the same essential oils, just in different combinations? Yep, that’s right!
All of the essential oils we use in our diffuser to promote restful sleep have similar properties. They all promote relaxation, calming and the ability to turn the endless thought loop off. You can mix and match the essential oils until you find a combination that works well for you!
What if I don’t have a diffuser?
If you don’t have a diffuser that’s absolutely okay. One of my favorite ways to use essential oils for sleep is to put a few drops on the sheets or pillow before bed.
Another option is to put a drop in your palm, rub your hands together and take a few big inhales. That has been very effective for me to have a great night of sleep.
You could also make a pillow spray by adding the essential oils to a spray bottle with some water. Spritz your pillow and sheets before bed!
