Seven Reasons Why You Need To Start Using Essential Oils
Imagine having everything you need to keep you and your family healthy and beautiful in your cabinet at all times? It is possible once you start using essential oils! They are my number one tool for beauty and wellness. Essential oils are these seriously potent and pure aromatic compounds that come from plants. Read on for my top seven reasons why you need essential oils in your home.

We use essential oils on a daily basis to support our health and they have truly been a gift for our family. Trips to the doctor’s office and then the pharmacy to pick up prescriptions (not to mention all of the waiting time in between, usually with a fussy kid) are a thing of the past.
Do Essential Oils Work?
This is the most commonly asked question – do essential oils really work?
I think you probably know the answer by the title of this article! Yes. Yes. Yes, they work if you know how to use them safely and effectively.
The real question is – why do you want to use essential oils?
If you’re looking to get rid of the toxins in your home – from cleaning products to beauty products (that was my main reason) – then you will have great results using essential oils.
If you’re looking to cure cancer, then no a bottle of essential oils isn’t going to cure you. BUT, if you want to reduce stress, sleep better and not feel so nauseous from your cancer treatments, then essential oils will work for you.
There is no quick fix to life – essential oils are here as an alternative holistic practice, integrating mind, body and spirit.
Why do we use essential oils?
We use our essential oils every day to stay healthy, handle stress, clean the house, remove toxins from the air, soothe our skin and so much more!
It’s hard to describe why and how much I love my essential oils, but I’ll try to sum it up here:
They are cost-effective. It literally costs me pennies to treat a headache, ear infection or cold. Much cheaper than over-the-counter meds or prescriptions.
They last a really long time. A few of my bottles are 4 years old and still as potent and effective as the day I bought them. How many times have you thrown out expired medicine that you used once? Guilty!
They make your house smell amazing. A few drops of essential oil in a diffuser (this one is my favorite) and your house will smell delicious.
They are safe. Essential oils are safe as long as you use them safely! Does that make sense? Always dilute them before applying to anyone’s skin. If you’re nervous about using them safely then just use them aromatically. Diffuse them or try my favorite method of putting a drop in the palm of your hand, rub your palms together and breathe in. It’s amazing how fast you will feel the effects (this is my go-to method for stress, anxiety and feeling overwhelmed).
Check out the dilution chart below for making roller blends so you don’t overdo it!
They are natural. No toxins and yuckiness going into our systems (make sure you buy the best quality essential oils!)
Kids love them. My kids always ask for them when they are hurting or sick. So much easier than forcing medicine down their throats. I’ll add a drop of Lavender to their pillowcase at night to help them sleep, I make inhalers for them when they feel stressed or anxious, I set up a diffuser in their room with Eucalyptus when they are stuffed up, I dab a little Tea Tree Oil on their bug bites..I could keep going!
They are extremely versatile. I can make a quick natural cleaner with Tea Tree Oil and then dab a few drops on a pimple. How awesome is that?! Check out these natural cleaning recipes for more ideas on how to make your own cleaners.
There you have it.
So much love for essential oils! Always feel free to email me with any questions. I love to talk oils!
