Homemade Hair Serum (aka scalp treatment!)
Is there anything better than a scalp massage? I think not! Scalp massages can stimulate hair growth, relieve tension and calm the nervous system. Make this homemade hair serum, massage it into your scalp and watch your hair go from dull to shiny, overnight. Just do it. Trust me!

What can a homemade hair serum do for my hair?
A hair serum, in general, can stimulate hair growth, help restore moisture to dry/damaged hair, prevent hair loss/shedding (this is the main reason I use it) and it will make your hair super soft.
Homemade hair serum is even better because you know exactly what’s in it, you can customize it to your hair type/condition and it’s inexpensive to make. If you’re into natural beauty and DIYs, you probably have all of the ingredients already!
Another perk of using a hair serum is the scalp massage you are going to give yourself – or even better, have a friend or partner do it for you.
Stimulating the scalp is excellent for hair growth and hair health and you will feel all the tension and worry melt away. You will also get the aromatic benefits of the essential oils as you massage your scalp. How does that sound?!
How do I make my own hair serum?
To make a homemade hair serum you will need carrier oils and essential oils. Carrier oils are fatty-acid, plant-based liquids that literally “carry” the essential oils into your skin and hair. They also have many incredible healing properties on their own. You will want to use carrier oils that are cold-pressed, organic and 100% pure.
Essential oils are absolutely magic when it comes to hair health. Oils like Rosemary, Lavender and Cedarwood are known to promote healthy hair and scalp. Check out this list of nine essential oils that are amazing for hair growth.

How do I use a homemade hair serum?
Once you have your serum all mixed up and ready to go, put a few drops on your scalp and start massaging it in. Then add a few drops to the back of your hairline and start massaging all over.
If you have dry, damaged, split ends you will want to pull the oil all the way through to your ends. If you don’t, just stick with the scalp.
When you’re all done (and super relaxed!), put your hair up in a bun and let the oils soak in for about 15-30 minutes. At this point, you will want to wash with a beautiful, non-toxic shampoo like this one. You may have to wash twice, it all depends on your hair – that’s your call!
You could even do this treatment before bed and leave it on overnight. Just make sure you put a towel on your pillow or just change your pillowcase in the morning.
