Making the transition to a more natural lifestyle can seem a bit overwhelming. I’m here to tell you it doesn’t have to be! It can be really simple if you can get your hands on a few basic items
Five Essential Products for Natural Beauty and Wellness

With these five essential items, you can whip up your own cleaning products, lotions, deodorant, hair treatments and so much more
Here are my five must-have products for natural beauty and wellness:
Essential Oils
Of course, essential oils would be my number one! As you can tell from most of my posts, essential oils are my best friend. We use them for EVERYTHING. All of the beauty products I make have essential oils as the main ingredient because they are so incredible for your skin. They help with redness, blemishes, hyperpigmentation, itching, dryness and the list goes on. I dealt with melasma on my face for years and once I started making my own products and using essential oils on my skin, I saw a huge difference.

When it comes to wellness, you want these little gems in your medicine cabinet. If someone is coming down with something I immediately start using our oils and wouldn’t you know, we haven’t been to the doctor in years (aside from well visits). Sore throats, sinus infections, headaches, muscle pain – not a problem when you have essential oils.

Cleaning would not be the same without essential oils. They add in extra anti-microbial powers and you can customize your cleaning products with your favorite scents. I love to use Wild Orange, Lavender and Eucalyptus in my products because I absolutely love the way they smell AND the way they make me feel. Happy Mom Cleaning!
Not all essential oils are created equal, so I encourage you to do your research before buying. You want essential oils that are therapeutic-grade, completely pure and potent and most importantly, sourced from where the plant grows naturally. Stick with a company that is very transparent about how and where they source their essential oils so you know what you are getting.
If you already have essential oils, then you rock! If you don’t you can pick up some (at wholesale cost!) from my favorite company, doTERRA.
This is the BEST enrollment kit to get started with because you will get TEN essential oils and blends that are amazing for beauty and wellness. I still use these ten oils on a daily basis, they are basically my medicine cabinet!
When you buy this kit you will become a wholesale member which means you can always buy your essential oils (THE BEST!) at 25% off retail. No monthly obligations. Of course, feel free to email me if you have any questions or shoot me a message on Instagram.
Another perk of buying this kit is you will get personal help from me (woo hoo!) on how to best use your essential oils. I’ve been using essential oils for over five years and my family and I have never been healthier. It was the best decision I ever made!
Coconut Oil
Have you seen those posts that say “200 ways to use coconut oil” and you’re like whaaatt? Well it’s true, you can use coconut oil for a million different things! I buy a couple of jars at a time from Trader Joe’s and it’s insane how quickly I go through them. You can also buy massive containers of coconut oil at Costco or any wholesale store.
We cook with it AND I use it in all of my lotions, salves, moisturizers and deodorant. Coconut oil is naturally anti-fungal and antibacterial so it’s perfect for personal care products. I use it straight out of the jar as a moisturizer on my skin. I also like to make a salve for me and my kids with about 1/4 cup coconut oil mixed with 10-20 drops of Frankincense, Lavender and Melaleuca. It’s great for dry, itchy skin and rashes.

You can use coconut oil as a hair and nail treatment, you can mix it with sugar for a body scrub, you can use it as a carrier oil for your essential oils, and so much more! It’s definitely a must-have item for us natural gals.
Castile Soap
Castile soap is a big time player in our cleaning and personal care products. I buy Dr. Bronner’s Pure Castile Soap in bulk and it’s the only soap we use. You will be amazed at how much you can do with it!
You can make a super easy foaming hand soap with castile soap. Think about how quickly you go through hand soaps in your house (especially if you have kids!). Making your own hand soap will save you tons of money. You will just add about 2 Tablespoons of castile soap to your foaming soap dispenser and fill the rest with water. That’s it! You can also add essential oils to make it smell yummy. I like to add a doTERRA blend called On Guard. It smells fantastic AND it kills any nasty germs hanging around on your hands. Love it.
We use castile soap in our laundry detergent recipe. It’s also great for hand-washing clothes and as a stain remover. You can also use it diluted to wash dishes. It’s in my DIY makeup brush cleaner and most of my homemade recipes! Oh and you can use it to wash your hair and body too..go figure!
Vinegar
You can pretty much clean your house top to bottom with a mixture of vinegar and water. Enough said.

Glass Containers and Spray Bottles
Now that you have all of your natural products and you’re ready to make a few things, you need somewhere to store everything right? I love these cute mason jars for lotions and creams. These glass spray bottles are great for cleaning and any type of hair or body spray you make. I recommend a big glass spray bottle for your multipurpose cleaner. Don’t forget labels! Make sure you label everything and I even like to put the recipe on the label so I don’t forget what’s in it!
I know glass is heavy and might break, but plastic can be sketchy and if you are using essential oils they don’t hold up well in plastic containers.
I make an exception when I’m traveling because I don’t want to lug around all those heavy bottles. I transfer them into these cute silicone containers.
And That’s It!
These five products are all you need to start incorporating natural remedies and products into your lifestyle. Once you start making more products you will probably want to add in items like shea butter and beeswax pellets, but if you’re a total newbie just take it slow.
There’s no need to throw all of your cleaning supplies and personal care products out. Use them up! Then slowly replace the items one by one with a more natural product.
Leave a comment below if you have a great natural remedy or DIY to share. I love getting new ideas!
