Lip Balm
I love giving homemade lip balm as a gift because it’s so easy to make and it’s such a crowd pleaser! This recipe is the absolute bomb – I haven’t come across anyone who hasn’t loved it.
You could gift them in these cute tins or go even more sustainable with these eco-friendly tubes.
Here is the basic recipe:
2 tbsp coconut oil
2 tbsp beeswax
2 tsp apricot kernel oil (or any carrier oil you have on hand)
20 drops Rose essential oil (or any essential oil you prefer – check out the full lip balm post for more ideas)
Melt the beeswax and coconut oil in a double boiler. Let cool for a few minutes. Add in the apricot kernel oil and essential oils. Pour into a small glass container, tin or tube. This recipe yields about 2 ounces so double or triple it depending on how many you are gifting.
Bath Salts
Homemade bath salts make such an elegant gift. They are probably one of the easiest homemade gifts you can make with essential oils!
Here is the basic recipe:
1 cup Epsom Salts
1/4 cup Pink Himalayan Salt
10 drops of Lavender essential oil
glass jars
To make your bath salts, combine all of the dry ingredients and then add your essential oils. Stir, stir, stir to combine. Pour into a glass jar, throw on a cute label and you’re good to go!
Beeswax Candles
Beeswax candles emit negative ions which clean and purify the air. Amazing right?! Candles are always a crowd pleaser and beeswax candles take it to the next level.
Beeswax candles have a beautiful, natural scent on their own and I often don’t even add essential oils – but you could definitely add essential oils if you have a particular scent in mind. Just be aware that you will have to add a lot of essential oils to make the scent come through.
This is what you will need for DIY Beeswax Candles:
beeswax
coconut oil
glass jars
wicks
closepins
candle making pouring pot (optional, but great to have because beeswax is really hard to clean!)
50-80 drops essential oils of choice

Body Scrubs
Body scrubs are such a fun gift and they are sooo easy to make!
Here is the basic recipe for a DIY Body Scrub:
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup carrier oil (I love fractionated coconut oil)
20-25 drops essential oils
Combine all of your ingredients well and pour into a pretty glass jar.
I love to use essential oils like Bergamot, Eucalyptus, Wild Orange and Lavender in my scrubs. Check out these 12 amazing body scrub recipes for inspiration and ideas!

DIY Room Sprays
DIY essential oil room sprays are one of the best homemade gifts with essential oils. They make an awesome gift because it’s something people never really make on their own. It’s great to whip up DIY holiday room sprays over Thanksgiving and Christmas because you can use yummy essential oils like clove, cinnamon and ginger.
You can really get creative with your essential oils when you make DIY room sprays, but I will say, a basic DIY room spray with Lavender or Serenity for bedtime is always a hit!
Here is the basic recipe:
4-oz spray bottle
20-30 drops essential oils
1 tbsp witch hazel
distilled water
Add the essential oils to your spray bottle and swirl them around (make sure you like the scent!). Then add the witch hazel and distilled water. Shake it up, put on a label and it’s ready to go.
Here are some of my favorite holiday essential oil blends:

Whipped Body Butter
I saved the best for last – homemade whipped body butter! I have given this gift several times and everyone always asks for more. An amazing combination of nourishing butters and oils, this DIY body butter is perfect for soothing dry skin during the cold winter months.
I love this recipe without essential oils because the smell of cocoa butter warms my soul, but adding essential oils like Lavender, Frankincense, Ylang Ylang or Patchouli can really kick it up a notch. I tend to avoid citrus oils because they can cause your skin to be extra sensitive to the sun.
Here is the basic recipe:
1/4 cup shea butter
1/4 cup cocoa butter
1/4 cup coconut oil
1/4 cup avocado oil
20-30 drops essential oils
Add all of the ingredients (except the essential oils) to a glass bowl and place the bowl over a pot of simmering water (diy double boiler!). Let all of the ingredients melt, take off the heat and add in the essential oils. Place the bowl in the fridge for about an hour. Whip up by hand or with a mixer until you reach your desired texture. Scoop into your container, add a label and you are done!
