Cellulite Busting Body Scrub
Don’t ignore your bum this winter (or any season for that matter)! Body scrubs are an incredible way to pamper your skin in the shower. This cellulite busting scrub is perfect for skin that could use a little extra toning. It smells amazing and the best part is you can make it in less than five minutes!
All those dead skin cells on the surface of our skin just emphasize the appearance of cellulite. So while we can’t just scrub our cellulite away, we can improve the appearance of our skin thus reducing the appearance of cellulite. We are going to bust through those dead skin cells with this awesome body scrub!
All of the ingredients in this recipe help to tone and detox the skin, while promoting circulation.
Cellulite Busting Body Scrub Ingredients
Epsom Salts
I always keep a big bag of Epsom salts in our bathroom closet and I recommend everyone do the same. They are incredible for detoxification. I will add a 1/2 cup or so to a bath with a few drops of Lavender essential oil if I’m feeling under the weather or just need some serious relaxation.
They are also an ideal ingredient in body scrubs. Epsom salts are highly exfoliating and great for promoting circulation (bye bye cellulite!) I love ingredients like this that are multi-purpose.
Sweet Almond Oil
Sweet almond oil is a light oil that is really good for dry skin. We want those dimply areas to be as moisturized as possible. I love using sweet almond oil in my face and body scrubs because it creates a barrier on the skin, protecting it from god knows what in the environment. It is really nourishing and helps your skin maintain it’s suppleness. Supple bum here you come!
Grapefruit Essential Oil
Aside from smelling incredible, Grapefruit is one of the most beneficial essential oils around. When you need an energy boost, pop a few drops of Grapefruit in the diffuser. If you want to fight sugar cravings, add one drop of Grapefruit EO to your water (make sure it’s safe for ingestion first). And if you want to get rid of cellulite, Grapefruit is our guy!
Grapefruit essential oil helps to boost circulation and is very stimulating for the skin. It also helps with any puffiness and water retention.
Cypress Essential Oil
One of my favorite essential oils! I LOVE Cypress. A lot of people use Cypress in massage blends because it helps with water retention and reducing the appearance of cellulite. It also promotes circulation and helps remove toxins. All the things we are looking for in a body scrub.

How to Make the Body Scrub
- Measure out a heaping 1/2 cup of Epsom Salts in one of your glass measuring cups (the 2 cup is perfect for this recipe!)
- Combine 1/4 cup of Sweet Almond Oil and 10 drops each of Cypress EO and Grapefruit EO in a small measuring cup and whisk together.
- Add your oil mixture to the Epsom Salts and mix well.
- Pour mixture into a 4 oz glass container.
How to Use the Body Scrub
You always want to apply a body scrub to clean damp or wet skin, so a shower or bath is a great time to use it. Massage the scrub into your skin using circular motions and gentle pressure. Take a few deep breaths so you can take advantage of the beautiful aroma. Rinse off with water and you are done!
Moisturize your skin afterward with something gentle, like coconut oil. Be careful not to apply any products that might sting or irritate your skin. And definitely do not shave!
Use this scrub 1-2 times a week for that supple bum.
I hope you enjoy this recipe. Happy Scrubbing!
I love making such things myself! I use body scrub before making a body wrap at home. The one I make is from coffee, honey and oil. I’d love to try your recipe as well. Thank you for sharing!
